By the time a piece is behind glass at a traditional jeweler, you are paying for five or six transactions that contributed nothing to what you are actually buying.

THE SOURCE
We go directly to where the gold and gemstones come from.
Gado has direct access to mines and the miners who work them. Not through a broker. Not through an import agent. Directly.
Our emeralds come from Colombia, the most respected emerald origin in the world, responsible for over 70% of global emerald market value. Colombian stones carry a depth of colour and a reputation that no other origin has matched. When you see an emerald in a Gado piece, you know exactly where it came from.
This level of source access is rare for an independent jewelry house. Most retailers are buying from distributors who bought from wholesalers who bought from importers. The stone has changed hands multiple times before anyone designs around it.
We don't work that way.
THE GOLD
We process our own gold. Almost no independent jeweler can say that.
Gold processing (refining raw material into the 18K standard used in fine jewelry) is typically handled by a third-party refinery. That step costs money, and those costs are passed down the chain to you.
Gado has in-house gold processing capability. It means we control the quality at every stage, and it means we are not paying a refinery margin that ultimately ends up in your price.
Every Gado piece is crafted in 18K gold, 750 parts per thousand pure gold. It is the standard used by the world's most respected jewelry houses: rich in colour, durable enough for daily wear, valuable enough to hold and grow in worth over time. We chose 18K not as a selling point, but because it is simply the right material for jewelry that is meant to last.

We sell directly to you. That means no retail markup on top of a wholesale markup on top of a distributor markup. What you pay reflects the actual cost of the gold, the gemstone, and the craft - with our margin, and nothing else.
The result is a piece that would price at roughly double at a traditional retailer. In the case of our Colombian emeralds and gemstones, the difference is often closer to triple.
